Nais ko po sanang makapagtrabaho. Im a polio viction but i am graduated as Computer Technician.
I hope this will be the chance for me to find a suited job for just like of me.

Can Person with Disabilty able to workabraod even they have the qualififaction and experience meet employer requirements? I’ve 10 years of local experience as Draftsman but my hard of hearing prevent me in doing so. Can gov’t agencies like POEA can arrange it with employer who wish to employ PWD even they have long local working experience?
Hope you can reply to my query.

@Patrick G.,
i have polio on my left foot but can walk without the aid of crutches. anyway, i’ve been working abroad (middle east) and still is for the last 12 years. cguro depending on the field you are in (ako nasa admin).
when i had my medical exams in 1997, it was clearly stated in my medical report na may polio nga ako.
anyway, kung may kakulangan (should not be the term) tayo, marami pang areas na pwede tayong mag excel. one i appreciate sa bansang kung saan ako naroon ngayon is that, in my twelve years here, wala akong nakita o narinig na pinagtatawanan o ginagaya ang lakad ko. sad to say, it’s very common dyan sa pilipinas na ginagawang katatawanan ang may kapansanan. kahit on national tv:(

gumagalang,

Madam:
Greetings of peace!
I am Joselito R. Briones, 24years old, single. I graduated with the degree Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting at Saint Mary’s University last April 21, 2007. I am a PARTIAL hearing-impaired person, a hard of hearing (HOH) since birth my left ear was deaf and cannot hear sound but my right ear can hear sound and can understand environmental speech. I am sending a letter because I want to ask to make me a recommendation letter that to be send to the Executive Director of PHILIPPINE CHILDREN MEDICAL CENTER (PCMC) – Dr. Julius A. Lecciones for possible employment in the hospital. I am only recommended by Dr. Francis Samonte, he submitted my application and requirements to Dr. Lecciones last August 11, 2009, but the HRMD send me message that up to now were no vacancies yet and my application in the hospital were placed on active file for 1 year, once if there are approve vacancies to fill up. So, I just sending request letter for possible employment, because I need your recommendation in the hospital which Dr. Samonte helped me to referred work in a hospital. Through this, I am trying my luck to send a request letter for a referral for possible employment at PCMC as office staff and accounting – related services. I have a sound and healthy body and have a strong self- determination that is helpful in the attainment of my future. I perceive my condition a capacity rather than a disability.
I have experienced job searching discrimination on my job hunting days in other companies, I try my best looking, searching and applying a job but the result is that the employer don’t accept with defects like my condition. I am aware that to improve my chances of finding employment, being deaf job searchers, they tailor my resumes to hide the fact that I have a hearing loss / defect. There is no way I can hide it on mine. It would take some with the brains of gnats to not be able to figure it out from my resume. In addition, there have been some companies that called my mobile number (rather than to send a message), and after discovering that I cannot understand and experiencing a relay service call, they did not call again. I have lost some good jobs as a deaf job searcher because of this. There have been times when companies said – they would contact me, but they did not, I prove myself my condition, honestly that I have a hearing defect, of course I can’t be sure that all this was because of my situation, but I think some suspicion of discrimination is reasonable. Being a hard of hearing was difficult to look for a job because of a great possible risk on communication, even if I had a proven education rather than the HEARING WORLD.
Thanks to my parents that they send me at a CICM schools, which indeed all the students are good in hearing whereas for me a partial deaf. They inculcated me in the love of God. Thanks to my faith: F-A-I-T-H, faith in God, it did not drop me off. Thanks to the many people who sympathized and emphasized me. They were God sent. CICM schools guided me by spiritual, moral and intellectual as part of Christian values. They also seeks to establish an effective, excellent and relevant system of education. My parents prefer to send me to a attend a normal school rather than to attend to a SPED School because I perceive my condition that I can cope up with the normal school better in spite that I have a profound hearing loss and moderate sensorineurial loss . However, it was not a hindrance for me to pursue my studies until I succeeded. I love reading books in my field of specialization. My 14 years of schooling was a stepping stones for me to pursue my ambitions in life to go to another journey – the real world of OFFICE WORK. However, despite my condition, it was not a hindrance for me in achieving my goals. “Even if one has a disability, one should keep going, living one’s dream and achieving the heart’s desires… live your dreams & follow your heart”.
Last year, I am sending a letter in your good office of which companies that employ deaf. So that, thanks for your help that you recommend me for possible employment to work at the The Nova Foundation For Differently Abled Person, Inc . I am employed at Hops Department as a Data Encoder. I started last June, 2008 from then, I was resigned last June, 2009 due to many reason. The reason that I resigned were due to FORCE LEAVE SCHEDULE, 3-4 days a week of work, and salary is too lower than the minimum wage, I cannot yet support my daily needs when I worked in Manila. I belong to a poor family, my father was only a tenant farmer. I rented a boarding house while on working at Nova Foundation, but many expenditures to pay for, that was the reason I resigned in Nova Foundation, because I cannot support my daily needs due to monthly salary was not enough.
I applied last July 23, 2009 in the job fair for PWD at SM North Edsa SM North Annex. I attend there and submitted my resume to the participating companies – DBP, Puregold, Bioessence and CMO Manpower, but they did not contact me whether for an interview or employment exam. I want to come back to Manila to apply another job, but I think it was too hard without the help of what companies that employ deaf, assistance from your good office and recommendation for me to reffered work to a company for possible employment. I want to find work to support my family from then on, I am still jobless and working hard to look and search a companies that employed and gives opportunities for the disabled to find jobs in Manila, but unfortunately I went home jobless and sad in my hometown.
Madam, which much appreciation, for your assistance, bear wish to work despite my capability on my disability, can you help me to recommend me to work at PCMC, I don’t know if there’s a disabled employed there. I want to provide professional development and to acquire the knowledge, skills, proficiency and mental abilities to render quality accounting and accounting – related services to the business world, so that I want to work in a hospital that has something to do with accounting. Please response my request for possible employment for a referral working at PCMC which Dr. Samonte helped me. I maybe reached through my mobile number 0905 924 5274 and my e-mail address joselitobriones@yahoo.com to send me response for my assistance and request to work at PCMC which my application there were placed on active file.
For your consideration and favorable action.
Thank you for taking the time to read my request letter. I look forward to talk with you.
Very truly yours,
JOSELITO R. BRIONES

God bless us, my fellow pwd’s.
