The Department of Tourism (DOT) has issued a Memo Circular No. 2011-04 Series of 2011, adopting the Guidelines granting Special Discounts to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This, according to Atty. Ma. Victortia V. Jasmin, DOT Undersecretary for Tourism Regulation, Coordination and Resource Generation, is to comply with the provisions of the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons as amended by R.A. 9442.

The Circular enjoins all DOT-accredited restaurants, hotels, tourist inns, apartels, pension houses, resorts and similar establishments, tertiary hospitals, ambulatory clinics, spas, sports and recreational clubs/centers, museums, galleries, tourist land, water and air transport operators to grant PWDs at least twenty percent (20%) discount on services stated in the Circular, for their exclusive use or enjoyment.
