American Field Service International President  Francisco “Tachi” Cazal, shows off AFS-KL-YES poster produced by NCDA,  in sync with AFS-IPP and DepEd last June 15 AFS Intercultural Evening at the Manila Polo Club.  Posters aim to upscale participation of students with disabilities, and promote a ‘disability-inclusive education’’ called for in the ‘’UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”. DepEd Director and AFSer Joey Pelaez (3rd from left on the below right photo) will help distribute copies in selected regions during his DepEd official trips.

AFS 15th batcher and  AFS-IPP Partner Chair Bonnie Guerra (lower left photo), whose term opened up AFS-KL-YES program to students with disabilities in 2004, honored by AFS-IPP and AFS Int’l. President Casal for being the 2nd President of AFS Asia –Pacific Initiatives (AAI). To date, there  are now 14 scholars with disabilities who were young goodwill ambassadors who lived with foster parents and studied in America for 1 year, and two new scholars for schoolyear 2011-2012, sponsored by the United States Government, and private support groups.
