LEAD AGENCY AND HOST OF THE CELEBRATION

For this year’s celebration, the National Working Committee (NWC) has been organized by the NCDA and is being chaired by the Department of Justice. As such, the DOJ is the presiding agency to all committee meetings and the lead event organizer.

THEME OF THE CELEBRATION

The theme of this year’s NDPR Week is “Building an Inclusive and Non-Handicapping Environment for Persons with Disabilities.” This theme was adopted to promote the principles and concepts of disability inclusive development using the Incheon Strategy as its framework. The theme also advocates for the mainstreaming of disability agenda to all government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society and the public in general.

A sub-theme was also developed as part of the Department of Justice’s activity entitled “Patatagin ang Karapatan sa Katarungan ng Mga Taong May Kapansanan.” This was agreed on to give emphasis on having access to justice by persons with disabilities in order for them to be part of an inclusive society.
