Salazar thanks Mr. Noman Khan, 2010 Ramon Magsaysay Foundatio (RMF) Awardee for sharing with NCDA partners and staff his award-winning zeal for a “disability-inclusive” Bangladesh against all odds. Also, for sharing his time last August 27, 2010 in NCDA even before he was conferred the RMAF Award on August 31, 2010 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Beside him is another PWD AFS Returnee Ms. Maria Adisa Nahil (3rd from right). Marlon and Adisa wowed the audience with their accomplishments notwithstanding their disabilities. Marlon is now call center supervisor due for another promotion, while Adisa is an RBI scholar and one of STI-Cubao’s achievers.

GMA shakes hand with one of PWD leaders

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo shakes hands with one of the women with disabilities during her visit last February 18, 2010 to the newly constructed two-storey building of the National Council on Disability Affairs. The Council has been transferred to the Office of the President by virtue of Executive Order No. 709 which was issued by President on February 26, 2008. It is vested with powers and functions as a policy making, coordinating and monitoring agency of the government on disability related matters and propose legislations concerning the rights of persons with disabilities in the country.
