NCDA LAUDS COMELEC’S ISSUANCE OF RESOLUTIONS MAKING VOTING EASIER FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

NCDA lauds COMELEC for issuing Minute Resolution No. 10-0326, which approved the extension of preferential treatment to senior citizens, pregnant women and persons with disabilities on election day by designating polling places located at the ground floor of the voting centers, or providing them express lanes if possible, and Minute Resolution No. 10-0331 which said that COMELEC will also provide Election Day Help Desk in every polling center to be manned by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
The issuance of these resolutions will make voting easier for persons with disabilities thus ensuring their participation in the 2010 elections and beyond.

This resolution of COMELEC is useless. Our voting experience did not change a thing. We still need to be carried to the precinct room (which is located on the 3rd floor). COMELEC’s effort to make it easy for persons with disabilities to exercise their right to vote is futile. Maybe they are not doing their duties diligently.

Napakatagal na ng COMELEC natin sa Pilipinas at nagkaroon na rin ng Asian Pacific Decade of the Disabled subalit wala pa rin tayong maasahan sa ating pamahalaan ng tunay na magmamalasakit sa ating sektor kasi patuloy tayong hindi binibigyan ng pansin.
Kung bigyan man, yun ay para lang masabi na may nagagawa sila. HIndi nasunod yan resolution na yan kasi mismong ang ppcrv at bei ay walang alam sa mga yan!
Bomoto ako sa 3rd flr. nagpabuhat pa ako, tinitignan lang ako ng mga ppcrv even yun mga bei ay hindi man lang nagtanong kung paano ako nakaakyat.
Ang gobyerno hindi totoong may malasakit sa atin sektor sapagkat mismong ang kanilng mga gusali ay hindi sumusunod sa batas at lahat ng mga lokal government ay walang alam sa mga batas natin mga pwd’s.
Tama na ang lokohan, ngayon magdiriwang na naman tayo ng ndpr week para “kuno” ipakitang may malasakit sila sa ating sektor.
Sana sa pag=upo ng ating bagong Pangulong NOynoy, makita niya ang bulok na sistemang pinapairal ng ating pamahalaan sa ating mga pwd’s…
